Eat at
The
Bull Hotel
Fine
Food. Locally Sourced. Freshly Made.
We offer three short menus, the Bistro @ The Bull
menu, our Fork Food menu and our lunchtime set menu, all providing imaginative choices.
Some dishes may have European influences;
others draw on Britain’s heritage both in this country and
further
afield. The ethos behind the cooking is simplicity: in the Bistro
(another way of saying neighbourhood restaurant) we have five or six
freshly prepared starters and a similar number of main courses. We will also be serving breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays from July 18th, 10:30 to 11:45.
We try where practicable to source
our ingredients from local suppliers and artisanal producers from all
over the UK.
Today
in Britain there is a renaissance in quality food production, with
British Beef widely considered among the finest in the world. This
has
been achieved through diligent and inspired nurturing of indigenous
cattle breeds such as Angus, Welsh Black and Shorthorn. Similar
revivals in British sheep farming methods have enabled our lamb
breeds such as Hardwick, Lakeland and Blenheim to receive
international accolades.
Our
own beef comes from the Mendip Hills, from lovingly reared Red
Herefords.
We place special emphasis on provenance and quality. With
this is mind don’t forget our GROW YOUR OWN SCHEME: You bring
in your locally grown seasonal produce from the allotment or garden and
we give you credit at the Bull.
